The OSD Model

The OSD Model consists of four parts: environamental requirements, design choices, culture, and results.  Environmental requirements are what they are; they are not under the control of the organization.  Culture and results are outcomes of design choices within the organization.  Design choices occur in two groups: organizational focus and organizational systems.  The alignment of organizational systems with organizational focus and with each other is the primary guiding principle for design.
